The Paris photography trade fair 24.39 returns for its third edition during Paris Photo week, bringing 60 international exhibitors to the Pavillon Wagram (47 avenue de Wagram, Paris, in the 17th arrondissement) for a day devoted to historical and modern photography. The show is open only on Saturday, November 14th, from 10 am until 4 pm. Admission is free.
Celebrating the bicentenary of the invention of photography in 1826, 24.39 reaffirms its commitment to bringing photographic heritage into a contemporary field of vision, while foregrounding the richness, singularity and materiality of the original photographic print. At its core is a material approach to photography—one that considers the photograph not only as an image, but as an object shaped by its process, history and circulation.
Spanning the 1840s to the end of the 20th century, the fair brings together a broad range of photographic processes, from salted paper and daguerreotypes to albumen prints and gelatin silver prints. Works range from a few dozen euros to tens of thousands, with a substantial selection priced between €200 and €5,000. This breadth of both material and price makes 24.39 a point of entry for established collectors and curators, as well as for enthusiasts and a new generation of photography buyers.

The third edition brings together galleries, dealers, collectors and specialists from France and across Europe—including Germany, Italy, Netherlands and Belgium—as well as the United States, U.K., Argentina and Canada--from over a dozen countries in all. 24.39 thus forms part of an increasingly international photography fair circuit, alongside established events in Amsterdam, Vienna, Antwerp and London. The 2025 edition welcomed well over 1,000 visitors.
This year this tabletop fair has attracted a number of bigger dealer and gallery names to its roster, including my own company, Vintage Works, Ltd., and other major American dealers, like Peter Fetterman and Daniel/Oliver Gallery, along with important European dealers and galleries, like Galerie Johannes Faber, Galerie Bruno Tartarin (who will also exhibit at Paris Photo), Hershkowitz, Ltd., L’Atelier d’Artistes, Les Larmes d’Eros, Lunn Ltd. (also exhibiting at Paris Photo), Serge Kakou, Serge Plantureux (another Paris Photo Exhibitor), Roland Belgrave, and many other excellent photo dealers.

Our company Vintage Works, Ltd. will bring many vintage masterworks, including from Gustave Le Gray, Eugene Atget, Frank Sutcliffe, Lee Miller, Roger Fenton, Barbara Morgan, Adrien Tournachon-Nadar and Man Ray, among others. Santa Bannon will have an adjoining table at the fair to show the work and books from our mutual contemporary photographer, Tom Shillea. Look for us in the coffee bar area on the first floor.
Paris-based dealer and show manager Barnabé Moinard specialises in historical and modern photography. In 2022, he founded Barnabé Moinard Photographies, a platform dedicated to the study, expertise, preservation and circulation of historical and modern photographic prints.
The name 24.39 refers to the 15 formative years of the 19th century, from 1824 to 1839, when photographic experiments proliferated and ultimately led to the medium’s official invention.
24.39 is a member of Vintage Photo Fairs Europe, a new non-profit organization for European tabletop fairs that focus on vintage photography. The mission is to promote the activities of the fair members, encourage others to start fairs and to spread knowledge about vintage photography in general.
