On the back, "Théophile Gauthier" handwritten in brown ink, "N° 9" and "collection" in ballpoint pen as well as a pencil sketch representing a man lying on a (death?) bed. Stamped in purple ink: "MANDATORY NOTICE/DETAILED F./REPRODUCTION RIGHTS RESERVED/ADDRESS 77, La Canebière-MARSEILLE". In the lower right corner of the mount, gap of approximately 2.2 x 1.2 cm, filled by sticking a stamp on the back of the mount. None of this affects the photograph itself.
