About This Image

Some of these images of Huguette Sabouret are published in two books on Lartigue. According to the family, Huguette, who was born in 1918, was the love child of Lartigue and Marie Sabouret. Hugette and her husband are buried in the Lartigue family vault in the Trocadero cemetery. Vintage Lartigue images are very rare, because he donated his personal collection to the French state, and most of these are probably unique in private hands.Provenance: Huguette Sabouret; her niece, Anne de La Baume.See: Ainslie Ellis, Jacques-Henri Lartigue: Les Femmes, p.60, for another image from this shoot. This specific image is in Album 1942/1 volume/ Page 52 (and a cropped version on Page 54) on the Ministère de la Culture website archive of the albums of Lartigue.
