With Broquet's red stamp on verso, along with pencil notations.Maurice Broquet was a talented Belgium photographer, whose work often appeared in the key photography publications of the 1930s and 40s, particularly in the Bulletin de lAssociation Belge de Photographie et de Cinématographie where he even published articles and cover photographs. His photographs are clean modernist views with no artifice. He clearly traveled to France to take a series on Marseilles from the Transporter Bridge, virtually identical to Germaine Krull's own famous series. In addition he did a series of photographs of a sculptor and his work, perhaps of his French relative, the noted artist Gaston Broquet.
