Size includes black photographic border. Signed and marked AP (artist proof) in gray pencil in recto margins. It is doubtful that Waldman ever completed his editions on any of his images before he died in 1981. According to the archive records, only 20 of the planned edition of 50 prints were ever made in this size. To quote Carol Greunke, Archivist for the Max Waldman Archive, "WOW! you have bought a great collection! Albert was one of Max's best friends, and I knew him as well. Max had given Albert some of his best work, and the best quality prints as Albert knew what was good. You have some of his best prints, as his favorite paper was discontinued in the mid seventies, and he used what he had for his favorite images. All these prints were made by Max at the same time as the negatives." Provenance: photographer; friend and fellow photographer Albert Nye; Caroline Nye (daughter).
