Signed, dated and location ("h. Le Secq, N. D. de Paris.") reversed out of the negative in the lower left. See: Jammes, Blanquart-Evrard Catalogue Raisonne, 1851-1855, p.258, pl.2. Similar prints are in the collections of the Bibliothèque Nationale and Bibliothèque municipale de Lille, but in the Blanquart-Evrard process. A very rare and important early Le Secq print. Most such prints are in institutions. Very few are in private hands. Provenance: Family of the photographer, Henri Le Secq.
