Three I Photo Central Dealers Will Exhibit Rare Photographs At AIPAD's NY Photo Show

Three of the members of I Photo Central will participate in this year's AIPAD Photography Show New York: Contemporary Work/Vintage Works, Charles Schwartz, Ltd. and Andrew Smith Gallery. You can find their listing on I Photo Central at: http://www.iphotocentral.com/dealer/dealer.php . If you see something on the website that you would like to have one of the dealers bring to the show, please let that dealer know as soon as possible.

CONTEMPORARY WORKS/VINTAGE WORKS

Contemporary Work/Vintage Works will be in the very center of the exhibition hall, down the middle aisle in booth 213. The company can be reached at 1-215-822-5662, or by email at info@vintageworks.net . You can see a selection of images from the company here: http://www.iphotocentral.com/search/result_list.php/128/1/0 .

This year the company will feature the rare vintage work of artist extraordinaire Tom Baril. Despite foreshadowing some of his later photographs, Baril's early work has never been publicly exhibited prior to now and is largely limited to two bodies of work: "The American Diner" and "A Sense of Place". The latter series bears some similarity to work during the same period by Lee Fiedlander, Lewis Baltz and Robert Adams, but with Baril's distinctive twist and stunning prints. These hauntingly empty, largely urban landscapes possess a strange power to visually and viscerally engage the viewer.

The vintage images from the 1977-1986 period making up these two collections are quite rare, usually existing in less than a handful of prints, and often in only one to three vintage examples. Sizes are typically from 11 x 14 inches up to 20 x 24 inches. Contemporary Work/Vintage Works is the exclusive representative for this important work by Tom Baril.

You can see selections from American Diner here: http://www.iphotocentral.com/showcase/showcase_view.php/24/0/288/1/3/0 ; and A Sense of Place here: http://www.iphotocentral.com/showcase/showcase_view.php/24/0/289/1/3/0 .

The company will also feature the work of André Kertész in its booth, including his early, vintage and large-scale prints. You can see these photographs by this important and influential artist at: http://www.vintageworks.net/search/result_list.php/256/Andre+Kertesz .
