London Auction Silly Season Does Relatively Well

By Michael Diemar

The London spring auction season coincided as in the previous two years with Photo London, much to the chagrin of the exhibitors. There were three auctions on May 18th, at Phillips, Christie's and Dreweatts & Bloomsbury, and two auctions at Sotheby's on May 19th. The prices in the auction stories below all include buyer's premiums. The pound, which due to the recent U.K. elections, has been fluctuating all over the place, is currently at an interbank rate of about $1.28 to the pound sterling.

The articles below detail the results at each auction house.
