In March 2005, Mitch Dobrowner returned to his passion for photography after a 20-year absence and, with the encouragement of his family and friends, began to produce new fine art landscape photographs. For this work, which focuses on the Southwest United States, Dobrowner received first prize from the French Prix de la Photographie Paris (Px3) in the Nature category for his black and white photo entry, "Rainstorm". Dobrowner was also awarded three Paris "Public Choice" awards in the PX3 Competition for the works, "Rainstorm", "Dusk Trona" and "Church Rock". These winning entries were tallied from approximately 40,000 online votes cast by over 5,100 voters. Dobrowner was also recently honored by B&W Magazine in its Special Issue 2007 Portfolio Contest (August, 2007) and was featured in a cover story in the April 2007 issue of LensWork Magazine.
